Remember when Matthew wrote about the five loaves and two fish? Well, consider this the modern-day version of that story. We had a guest come over and wanted to make our family-favorite meatball recipe. I could have sworn we had more packages of meat, but when the time came, I realized I only had 1lb of beef. Normally, that’s just the right amount for the four of us, so it definitely wouldn’t have been enough for five people.
This is where things took an unexpected turn. I was simply spending time with the Lord, and while I was rolling the meatballs, I noticed there were way more than normal. FOR YEARS, there had always been 4x6 rows and columns of meatballs. Not only were there more in number this time, but the sizes were also shockingly massive. I immediately remembered the "five loaves and two fish" story and knew without a doubt it was the Lord. We not only had enough for all of us, but we somehow had leftovers (which never happens).
My husband is very precise about measuring out the meat, prepackaging it, and putting it in the freezer. I asked him if he remembered any package being more than a pound, and he swears up and down that he measured them right.
God really does care about us so much and considers every detail of our lives. We just have to choose to acknowledge Him in all we do… whether it be cleaning, cooking, working, sleeping, etc. I hope this encourages you to seek Him daily. May God bless you.
Here’s a link to our family-favorite recipe for you and your loved ones to enjoy, too:
This simple moment reminded me that God still performs miracles, big and small, every day. Whether it’s multiplying meatballs or bringing peace in chaos, His provision never fails.
I've found that when I intentionally look for God’s hand in my day, whether I’m cooking, cleaning, or serving others… He shows up in beautiful, surprising ways. What would happen if we all invited Him into the ‘little things’ of life?
Have you ever had a moment like this where God showed up in a surprising way? I’d love to hear your story!
