Dreams can be mysterious, filled with symbolism and meaning that invite us to dig deeper. In this particular dream, I found myself moving from the intensity of a spiritual boot camp to the peace and joy of a heavenly banquet. Along the way, God showed me profound truths about rest, renewal, and the call to love one another. What does it mean to truly serve and be served in the body of Christ? As you read this dream, I encourage you to consider how it might speak to your own journey.
The Dream
I found myself in a park with the army of God. We were all working out in a boot camp style training session, pushing ourselves to the limit. When the session ended, we split up to prepare for a banquet. However, I was completely exasperated, physically, emotionally, and spiritually drained. I told the Lord, “I can’t even fathom getting ready and going out with everyone.”
At that moment, I was instantly teleported to the banquet hall, standing at the top of a grand staircase. I was completely refreshed, restored without even lifting a finger. I noticed I was wearing a cooling, white. bed sheet - draping off me like an oversized maxi gown. It was breezy, luxurious, and utterly comfortable. This garment was anointed with peace and righteousness. 🕊
As the doors to the hall opened, I walked in. The room was filled with round tables draped in fresh white tablecloths. Some tables seated small groups, others larger gatherings. At the back of the room, I saw a few of my brothers and sisters in Christ sitting on a giant white mattress. It looked like a cozy picnic.
When I joined them, I was greeted with open arms and sat down. Though I wasn’t hungry, I could still feel the lingering exhaustion from earlier. I looked for something to lean against so I could rest, but the mattress had no headboard, just open edges. Feeling desperate, I turned to my brother beside me and asked, “Can I lean against you?”
He smiled and said yes. As I leaned against his arm, every trace of exhaustion left me. In that moment, I was filled with peace, comfort, and complete relief.
Interpretation
This dream speaks of the love and intimacy we are called to share as the body of Christ. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve, and we are called to reflect His heart in how we treat one another.
When your brother or sister comes to you weary, heavy laden, and in need of rest, become their shelter, their safe haven, and their shoulder to lean on. Let love be the foundation of your relationships. Pour into one another as Christ pours into you, not for personal gain, but for the sake of love, relationship, and restoration.
Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
This dream is a reminder that refreshing others brings refreshment to us. This is how we bring life to one another, satisfying the soul and fulfilling the purpose for which we were made: love.
Galatians 6:2
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
